There is no health without mental health. Many companies did not see the value of supporting their workforce’s mental health. However, it is important to note that the workforce makes up the productive age of any society or community. Therefore, these are the people who are responsible for all major developmental issues of life- Interpersonal relationships, marriage, divorce, raising children, taking care of parents in late adulthood, being affected by chronic illnesses, dealing with grief and loss as well as working to meet the needs of all the people who look up to them. In essence, people in the productive age are looking after everyone else but no one is looking after them. Thus, they become overburdened employees that are giving the company the bare minimum to keep their job. However, the company is not benefiting from the employee’s full productive or innovative potential. Therefore, investing in occupational health interventions that support an employee’s mental health will ensure health and well- being which will bolster creativity, production, resilience, and improved problem-solving abilities.
